About GetInsuredCanada
GetInsuredCanada is an independent insurance brokerage operated by licensed advisors in Ontario. We compare life, critical illness and disability coverage from 25 Canadian insurers, and we focus on the files other advisors avoid: people who have been rated, postponed or declined, or whose health history makes coverage harder to buy.

How to verify the licence
Insurance agents in Ontario are licensed by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA), and anyone can check a licence for free. On fsrao.ca, open the Licensing Link search for agents licensed in Ontario and enter licence number 94022212. You should do this with any advisor before you share health information or apply.
What we do
- Compare coverage from the 25 insurers we work with, because the same file can be standard at one insurer and rated at another.
- Ask insurers anonymously how they would view a health history before you apply, so an avoidable decline does not follow you. The hard-to-insure guide explains how this works.
- Take your application from start to finish once you choose a policy.
How we write and check our guides
Insurance decisions are expensive to get wrong, so our guides follow the same process every time.
- Primary sources first. Tax, estate and benefit rules come from the Canada Revenue Agency, Revenu Québec, Service Canada, FSRA and the legislation itself. Policy details come from insurers' own contracts, product guides and published rates. Where a guide relies on a source, it links to it.
- A separate fact-check. Before a guide is published, every factual claim is checked against its source in a separate review pass, and anything the check cannot confirm is corrected or removed.
- Reviewed by a licensed advisor. A licensed advisor reviews every guide before it is published, and again when it is updated.
- Dated prices. Premiums are shown as rounded examples with the month they were collected and a note on where they come from. They are illustrations, not quotes: your price depends on underwriting.
- Quebec noted. Where Quebec rules differ, the guide says so.
- Honest dates. A guide shows an updated date only when its substance changes, such as new prices or a corrected fact, not for small edits.
- No rankings for sale. We do not publish "best company" lists or insurer reviews.
If you spot something wrong or out of date, please email contact@getinsuredcanada.ca so we can check it. Our guides are general information, not advice for your situation.
How we get paid
You never pay us a fee. When you buy a policy through us, the insurance company pays us a commission. It is not a separate charge added to your premium. The details are on how we get paid.
